Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 23, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how AmericanEconomy.ai LLC (“we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses and shares personal information when you use our website at https://americaneconomy.ai and the services we provide through it (the “Service”), and the choices you have. It should be read together with our Terms and Conditions.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account information. Your email address and, if you sign up with email and password, your password. We store passwords only as a one-way hash, never in readable form. If you sign in with Google, Google shares your email address and basic profile details with us, and we keep your email address and the fact that you use Google sign-in. We also record whether you have verified your email address.
- Business profile. The answers you give in your business profile. These can include your first name, company name, role, a description of your business, industry and niche, where your business is based, annual revenue range, number of employees, who your customers are and where they are, the regions and channels you sell through, your revenue trend, your biggest costs, the economic forces you are exposed to, your priorities, energy and import exposure, pricing, busiest months, how your business borrows, hiring plans, and upcoming decisions and their timing. You start with three questions; the rest are optional. If you answer the starter questions before creating an account, we send your answers to our server and to our AI model provider to generate your free personalized briefing, and they are saved to your account when you create one and sign in. To prevent abuse, we also keep a one-way hashed form of your IP address and browser identifier (never the address itself) to limit how many free briefings can be requested.
- Past chat history. Our chat assistant is no longer available to customers. If you used it before, we keep the questions you asked, the answers it gave and any facts about your business saved from those chats, so your briefings can take them into account, and we delete them when you delete your account. Conversations held without signing in were stored under a random browser identifier, not under your name or email address.
- Messages to us. Anything you send us, for example when you email support@americaneconomy.ai.
Information created when you use the Service
- Personalized content. The profile summaries, economic plans and personalized briefing emails we generate for you, and a record of the emails we have sent you.
- Subscription information. If you subscribe, Stripe tells us your Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, your subscription status (for example, active, past due or canceled) and, for a subscription that started with a free trial before we stopped offering them, when that trial ends. Your card details are entered on Stripe’s checkout page and handled by Stripe; we do not receive or store your full card number.
- Usage and device information. We use Google Analytics to understand how people use the website, such as the pages you visit, the actions you take (for example, completing your business profile), how you arrived at the site (including campaign tags in links from our emails), and your browser, device and approximate location. Our servers also record technical information, such as your IP address and browser type, in logs and to protect sign-up and sign-in from abuse.
Business contact information from other sources
If you are not a customer, we may have your business contact information because we obtained it from a commercial provider of business contact data in order to tell you about the Service. This can include your name, work email address, job title, company name and website, LinkedIn profile URL, location, industry and company size. We also record how you respond to our emails, such as replies, bounces and unsubscribe requests.
2. How we use information
- To provide the Service: create and secure your account, verify your email address, and show your dashboard.
- To personalize it: your business profile, and any facts you shared in past chats, are used to tailor profile summaries, economic plans and the briefing emails we send before and after economic report releases, for example addressing you by name and explaining how a report may affect a business like yours.
- To handle your subscription: start your subscription, record its status, and decide which features you can use.
- To communicate with you: send verification and account emails, emails about upcoming and recently released economic reports (your free personalized briefing, ongoing personalized briefings if you subscribe, and occasional short reminders with an invitation to subscribe if you don't), information about subscribing, and replies to your messages.
- To market the Service: send emails about the Service to business contacts who do not have an account, and keep a list of people who have asked not to be contacted so we can honor that request.
- To improve and protect the Service: understand usage, monitor and fix the quality of AI answers, prevent fraud and abuse, and keep the Service secure.
- To meet legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
3. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that help us run the Service, who may use it only to provide their services to us, and as described below:
- OpenAI, our AI model provider. To generate profile summaries, economic plans and personalized briefings and emails, we send OpenAI the relevant content, which can include facts saved from any past chats and information from your business profile (such as your first name, company name and profile answers).
- LangChain (LangSmith), which we use to monitor and troubleshoot AI requests. It receives records of those requests, which can include the context sent to the AI model (such as information from your business profile) and its responses.
- Stripe, which processes subscription payments and receives the information you enter at checkout, along with your email address.
- Google, which provides Google sign-in (if you use it), sends our emails through its email service, and provides Google Analytics.
- PartnerStack, which runs our partner (affiliate) program. If you arrived through a partner’s link and create an account, we share your email address with PartnerStack so the partner who referred you can be credited for your subscription.
- Instantly, which we use to send marketing emails to business contacts who do not have an account. It receives the business contact information described above for the people we email. Emails to account holders are sent by us directly, through Google.
- Our hosting provider, which stores the servers and databases the Service runs on.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect the rights, safety or property of our users, ourselves or others, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of our business, in which case this Policy will continue to apply to the information transferred.
4. Cookies and similar technologies
- Sign-in cookies. When you sign in, we set cookies that keep you signed in and protect the sign-in process. These are necessary for the Service to work.
- Analytics cookies. Google Analytics sets cookies to tell visits apart and measure usage. You can block them in your browser settings or with Google’s opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
- Partner referral cookies. If you arrive through a partner’s link, our affiliate provider PartnerStack sets a cookie recording which partner referred you, so that partner can be credited.
- Subscriber referral cookie. If you arrive through a subscriber’s referral link, we set a cookie for up to 60 days recording their referral code, so that subscriber can be credited if you sign up and subscribe. The subscriber sees only how many people they referred, not who.
- Campaign cookie. If you arrive from a campaign link (one with “utm” tags) or from another website, we set a cookie for up to 90 days recording the campaign, the page you landed on and the referring site. If you create an account or subscribe, we save that campaign information with your account and your subscription record at Stripe, so we can tell which campaigns bring subscribers. It does not include your name, email address or profile answers. After you sign up with Google or subscribe, we also set a cookie for a few minutes so that this event is counted once in Google Analytics.
- Page test cookie. We sometimes show visitors one of two versions of our home page to learn which explains the Service better. A cookie keeps you on the same version for up to 90 days, and Google Analytics records which version you saw.
- Local storage. If you request a free briefing without signing in, a random identifier is saved in your browser and sent with your request, so we can limit how many free briefings can be requested. If you answer the business profile questions before creating an account, your answers may also be kept in your browser until you sign in and they are added to your account (or, if your account already has a business profile, discarded).
- Stripe. Stripe’s checkout page is hosted by Stripe and may use its own cookies, as described in Stripe’s privacy policy.
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. If you block sign-in cookies, you will not be able to sign in.
5. How long we keep information
We keep your account, business profile, any chat history and the record of emails we have sent you for as long as your account is open, so the Service can keep personalizing your briefings. If you ask us to delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable time, except where we need to keep some of it to meet legal, tax or accounting obligations, resolve disputes or enforce our agreements. Stripe keeps payment records under its own retention policies. If you ask us not to contact you, we keep your email address on a do-not-contact list so we can honor that request. If you request a free briefing before creating an account and don't save it to an account, we delete the briefing and the answers used to write it after 30 days.
6. Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information. For example, the website is served over HTTPS, passwords are stored only as one-way hashes, card details are handled by Stripe rather than by us, and access to our systems and data is restricted. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please keep your password private.
7. Your choices and rights
- Access and correction. You can see your business profile and the emails we have sent you on your dashboard, and update your profile at any time from the “Update profile” button. To ask for a copy of your information or to correct anything else, email support@americaneconomy.ai.
- Deletion. You can delete your account at any time from your dashboard. This permanently deletes your account, business profile, any chat history and saved emails, and cancels any subscription immediately. You can also ask us to do this by emailing support@americaneconomy.ai from the email address on your account.
- Report emails. Every report email and every email about the Service includes a “Manage your subscription” link and an “Unsubscribe from these emails” link. You can also turn these emails off or back on from your dashboard, or email support@americaneconomy.ai. We may still send you essential account messages.
- Marketing emails. You can unsubscribe from our marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe option in the email, replying to ask us to stop, or emailing support@americaneconomy.ai.
- Analytics. You can block analytics cookies as described in section 4.
We will respond to requests within a reasonable time, and we may need to verify your identity first, usually by confirming the request comes from the email address on your account. We will not treat you differently for exercising your privacy rights.
California residents
If you live in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act gives you the right to know what personal information we collect, use and disclose; to request a copy of it; to ask us to correct or delete it; and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. In the past 12 months we have collected the categories of information described in section 1: identifiers (such as your name, email address and IP address), commercial information (your subscription status), internet activity (website usage), approximate location, professional information (your role and business details), and inferences drawn from your profile to personalize the Service. We collect it from you, from your use of the Service, and from the sources described in section 1, use it for the purposes in section 2, and disclose it to the categories of service providers in section 3. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that would give you a right to limit it. To make a request, email support@americaneconomy.ai. You may use an authorized agent, but we may ask for proof that the agent is acting for you and verify your identity directly.
8. Children
The Service is for business use and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us at support@americaneconomy.ai and we will delete it.
9. International users
The Service is designed for businesses in the United States, and we are based in the United States. We and our service providers may store and process information in the United States and other countries. If you use the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, and processed in, countries whose privacy laws may differ from those in your country.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date above, and if the changes are significant we will give you reasonable notice, for example by email or on the website.
